In Memoriam – Johan van der Kuil

On December 31, 2014, co-founder Johan van der Kuil died of an aggressive form of cancer at the age of just 48.

Johan played an enormously important role during the start and the first years of the company.

He was visionary, innovative, open-minded, but above all nice, pleasant, relaxed, uncomplicated and with a healthy dose of Rotterdam humor!

Johan was as I always called it “The cement between the Trident stones”.

He was also a family person, he took good care of his wife, his 2 children and the other family members and the good friends around him.

How much fun we have had regularly. His musical guilty pleasures were Top of the world by the Carpenters and Piano Man by Billy Joel.

With some regularity and with a good gulp of beer, we were singing loudly and hustling to the melody of these songs.

With intense grief and much and much and much and much too soon, we had to say goodbye to my buddy more than 6 years ago.

JOHAN, your love, your warmth, your strength, your smile and your humor. We still miss this and you EVERY DAY!
