Logistics service providers Danser Group, Swissterminal and DP World will collaborate with joint inland shipping services on the Rhine.
With two departures per week, the interconnections directly connect the inland terminals in Birsfelden (CH), Basel (CH), Weil am Rhein (D), Ottmarsheim (F), Strasbourg (F) and Kehl (D) with the deep-sea container terminals and empty container depots in Rotterdam (NL) and Antwerp (B).
The parties want to further stabilize the sailing schedules with competitive transit times between the hinterland and the seaports. With low fuel consumption and a high loading capacity, inland shipping is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective form of hinterland transport.
